Notes: Jerry Garcia Band w/Clarence Clemons 9-16-1989 Poplar Creek Music Theatre Hoffman Estates, IL Source: Realistic Stereo Mic on stand > Realistic Mixer > Sony Recorder Master cassettes were transfered to Hi-Fi VHS circa 1990 Transfer: VHS > M-Audio Delta Audiophile/Audacity > Wav > shn32 The recorder used here was an early Sony stereo cassette recorder. I forget the model. Probably a precursor to the TC-152. Just for the record - The original tape head in this machine had very poor treble response. I replaced it with a tape head out of a Sony Car Stereo...! Hey - It worked, and sounded worlds better than the thing that was in there. There is some saturation in vocals. But it is still a fairly listenable tape. A clever person could clean this up significantly. I'm fairly certain the taper was in the shed. Not sure how close. Don't know about the quality of the existing sources on this one. But try this one out. Track Listing Disc 1 01. Cats Down Under The Stars 02. They Love Each Other 03. Let It Rock 04. I Shall Be Released 05. Someday Baby 06. Dear Prudence (cut/fade out)* 07. Let's Spend The Night Together (cut/fade-in) Disc 2 01. How Sweet It Is 02. Knockin On Heaven's Door 03. Think 04. Waiting For A Miracle 05. Evangeline 06. The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down 07. Tangled Up In Blue * = Taper gets busted. But this tenacious bastard doesn't give up. Only the last moments of "Prudence" and the begining of "Let's Spend" get cut.
