Notes: sbd - first shows sans Mickey. Pretty tight. Best songs are: It Hurts Me Too, Dark Hollow, Smokestack (nice guitar lead) Easy Wind and Good Lovin. The remaining tunes are average for solid 71 shows. Vocals are off on Bertha for a large part of it. Summary - pleasant listen, but remove the above noted special tunes and you'd probably only listen to it once. The Good Lovin' I should add is jammed out musically and lacks the humorous Pigpen raps attempting to hook people up or whatever. Its a very good version. Overall, I'd give the nod to this date for my favorite of the 2/71 Capital run, though overall it was average 71.

Notes: matrix recording of bbd and unknown mono audience recording. I had listened to the aud immediately before this and that was an upside surprise. Hence, I was sort of prepared to listen to this one so it didn't knock me over as much as my experience with the aud by itself. Fun listen none the less. [2005-11-18]

Notes: unknown mono audience recording - WOW! I was very pleasantly surprised by this rare aud recording. It lacks the "overload" distortion that it is present on many of these early auds. I am also wondering if the person that recorded many of the Port Chester shows (Ken Lee?) taped this one as well. This show comes across better than what I remember the buzz I received from the sbd. The TOO is cut at a high point but the band interaction seems stronger than what the sbd suggested. Good Lovin' though a bit strung out for the musical ideas it contained kept me engaged. I look forward to hearing the Chris Chappell's matrix. I would put this on a "must hear" list but of course many will need to appreciate the difficulty of audience taping at the time and not dismiss it because of that.
