Notes: | I was there! From what I remember, the Dead played a solid set but The Band stole the show! Haven't had the urge to go to big events like this since. There are several nice songs but lots of tape cuts that are annoying. I'd exhaust other A rated shows before getting this one. IMO the famous jam at the end with the Allman's illustrates once again that too many cook's spoil the soup.

Notes: | gdadt round #11 - recorded by Jeffrey Siniawsky and Joel Smith. Again, the Jam on 7/27 is the most innovative playing on these 2 dates. set 1 on 7/28 has notable guitar on HCS, Row Jimmy, Deal and PITB. set 2 is solid and has a potentially good song mix its just that on this day they weren't exceptional.

Notes: | sbd w/ FM and aud patches [2007-03-18] Having attended this circus and not remembering much about the actual music (except for the Band's performance) and now having a familiarity with much of 73 it is safe to say that this date is unexciting by 73 standards. There are issues with the master reels per this comment "he glitches are on the Master (per Dick and the individual who provided me with the copy) and the Dat provided to me which I seeded the tree with. Rob Bertrando got a copy of my Dat - can't recall spinning copies for anyone else." so this isn't a pristine 73 recording. This show is light on improv (early afternoon show time?). It instead features your 73 song list delivered in standalone format - favorites are the usual suspects - HCS, PITB, a little jam in Truckin', C>R, EOTW. Recording quality is mixed per audience patches, FM and master sbd glitches so give this one a charitable B+ as well as the show. The 3rd set features the ABB and GD jamming - these are usually way over-hyped because there are simply too many people playing and they default to standard riffs or trade off who solos because they aren't used to playing together. The Mnt Jam here is tolerable (historical note is that the GD played this very early before the ABB was formed but dropped it I think by 68).

Nice recording considering the venue - I was there - as far as 73 goes, this performance was capable but memorable.
