Notes: aud [2006-08-28] Quality is A-/B+. Crowd not intrusive or annoying. Possible matrix candidate except most of HCS is missing, there is occasional overload distortion, and the soundfield is narrow though it comes across as FOB. Don't know if its a "mono" recording. Show wise there is lots of music but not part of the best 73 shows despite being a DP. The PITB that ends set 1 is typical 73 good. Set 2 has 2 jam segments, one is WRS>LIG (not a fav for me) and then a He's Gone > Truckin > NBFBM > TOO > Stella. The DP left out the bass solo which was not too engaging for me. Dec 73 IMO is not the strongest month in 73 for consistent over the top must hear show.

Notes: DP 1 outtakes [2006-09-04] Excellent sound and nearly flawless playing - I especially liked Candyman.

Notes: flac16; Recording Info:SBD -> Master Reel -> Dat (44.1k); Transfer Info: Dat (Sony R500) -> Sound Devices 744T -> Samplitude Professional v10.2 -> FLAC; All Transfers and Mastering By Charlie Miller [2009-03-21]Jerry ends the show with a "see you around..." usually the mark of a better than average performance since he comments sparingly at the end of a performance. Notable for the 1st DP. I would have selected 11/20/73 for my 1st DP but at the time this performance might have struck Dick for its somewhat unusual setlist and the strong HCS that Dick said was the reason he picked it out. At that time, very few folks had the same access we do today to the vast store of tapes.

It seems to have forced playing and features many of the slow and "contrived" songs from WOTF. Despite its being a DP, I don't see myself listening to this one any time soon.
