According to Deadlists, the band consists of Jerry Garcia (guitar and banjo), Marshall Leicester (banjo and guitar), and Dick Arnold (fiddle). The performance took place at the 'new' Boar's Head Coffeehouse, relocated in the San Carlos Jewish Community Center. Deadlists also hypothesizes that this is an audience recording, possibly with onstage mics.

Notes: If you're interested in really hearing where Garcia started to develop his style of playing guitar, one needs to look no further than his banjo playing on this show!! This is vintage wonderful bluegrass, and VERY worthy of you listening!!

Notes: This is one of the earliest known recordings of Jerry Garcia performing bluegrass and "old timey" music. The sound on this recording isn't awful considering it's age but isn't the best either. Regardless, this is a timeless classic that shows the roots of where alot of Jerry's music would come from in future songs. There is also quite a bit of talking and banter between songs from Jerry and Marshall. Highly recommended!!!
