Notes: sbd - Sound and mix is very good. Set 1 has great ensemble playing with the song selection sampling many styles and done in an upbeat but relaxed manner. Garcia's voice is good. Though the jamming is not that extended except for Franklin's, this would make a good disk to introduce someone to the gd who is unfamiliar with their style of improvisation. Set 2 is standard 79 except for the Jam into and out of drums which isn't formulaic and features some good riffs by Brent. I hesitate to give this a must hear rating on the basis of the tune selection in set 2.

Notes: aud - schissel. This is a good aud tape. Set 1 comes across nicely with the Mississippi > Franklin's opener with a nice jam in Franklin's. Its a short set but the rest of teh songs are excellent and to the point for what they are. A good snapshot of the band at this time. Set 2 starts with the often played Miracle > Bertha I'm not a fan of Miracle. If anything, it shows what a great song Bertha is in contrast. Mircale seems to screechy to me. The catch here is that instead of Lovin it goes into Lost Sailor so the pace slows down. On the aud tape the drums has been cut out so the jam out of Saint and into NFA is more or less continuous. Listening to this aud I changed my mind. I'd say this is a must hear show. The jam out of Saint has some very nice bass and Brent work and the NFA has a nice themed jam in the middle whose name I don't know. The rest of the show wraps up more or less as expected but the bookend jams around the drums segment are quite good and worth searching out.

Good performance but nothing exceptional.
