Notes: sbd - some mix issues on the first tune, but by TLEO things are sounding good. The rest of the first set are competent, solid renditions typical for fall 79. Set 2 starts with the first performance of Alabama Getaway. The jam section of set 2 is atypical for this period. It features an Estimated > Gone > Space/Drums > TOO > Rat sequence, unusual because Estimated > Eyes was the default for this era. The jamming in He's Gone is "mental/intellectual" and works well if you want to sit down and listen. Its quiet, slower paced, sort of the opposite of a Caution jam. Many interesting sounds. I would suggest this be on the "must hear once list" simply because it is NOT danceable but is still engaging. The sound features Phil nicely as well as the bass organ/synth chords.

Transfer by Andrew F. 09/2009 [2009-09-25]Nice aud tape - I'd rank this an average Fall 79 show (which was a string tour esp for Phil's sound).

Notes: Master recorded with 2 Sennheiser 421s + Sennheiser 441> Nakamichi 550 by David Minches. [2007-05-05] I think this is not seemless with the drums repeating from disk 2-3? Set 1 typical and unremarkable. Ends with a Sailor > Saint > Deal. Set 2 debuts Alabama Getaway-> GSET The jam is Estimated -> He's Gone-> Jam (caution esque morphing to abstract dissonant). Standard delivery of post drums segment of Space-> TOO -> Wharf Rat-> Around E: U.S. Blues. Nice aud, little crowd, show good but not remarkable.
